***** update 26.10.2021
Today we delivered the first jars of Summerhoney to our sales points.

****** update 19.6.2021.
It is available :-) Today we delivered the first spring honey to our sales points 'Nahkauf Petterweil' and 'Tischkultur' Groß-Karben.

***** update 11.06.2021
Good things come to those who wait' :-) Due to the location in the Heitzhöfer valley it takes a little longer until the honey is ready. Now the spring honey has been extracted. It is now stirred until it crystallises. This happens a little faster with spring honey than with summer honey. We will inform you when it is bottled. (approx. 2 weeks)

***** update 15.05.2021
The bees are now busy bringing in nectar. Due to the weather capriciousness of this spring it started only moderately. Probably the spring honey will be ready a little later this year. We estimate it will be mid-June until honey is available again. We will keep you informed.

***** update 18.02.2021
now it's available again: Honey Balsamico in the elegant 0.5L version. After we didn't have the bottle available for a while, it is now back in stock.

***** update 23.11.2020
Honey liqueur and honey balsamico are still available at our two sales points. Unfortunately, the Christmas markets are completely cancelled. We remember with pleasure the 1st Petterweiler Christmas Market last year. Our Hot Honey Äppler was enthusiastically received. You can also make it yourself. We took this as an opportunity to ring in the weekend with it over a small fire. Hot Äppler or tea refined with honey liqueur is a pleasant treat in the cold season. A little private Christmas market feeling, so to speak. Here is the link to the ideas.
Of course, a bottle of honey liqueur is also a nice greeting for Advent and Christmas.

***** update 20.11.2020
Dear honey lovers, we are of course pleased that our honey is so well received. The harvest was rather modest this summer. The stock has now been used up. You may still find remaining quantities at the two sales points.

***** update 20.8.2020
The summer honey is harvested. Due to the consistency of the nectar (including a lot of lime) it takes longer to crystallize. Accordingly, it must be stirred longer. The honey will probably not be available until mid-September.

***** update 12.8.2020 A big Thank You to our loyal customers: sale of this year's summer honey went quickly. The harvest was not too much anyway: today we delivered the last summer honey.

***** update 9th of June 2020: our honey is now available. See link or contact us

***** soon we can offer honey again: it is actually like every year. In the Heitzhoefer valley of Petterweil everything is a little more 'leisurely': the elder is only just now really blooming, where in other parts of Karben the Elderflower is already in full blossom. And the water content of the honey also reaches the desired value (this is measured with a refractometer). Maybe that's the secret of the special taste of our honey. The bees are now sealing the filled cells. We will extract the honey at Pentecost, then we need 7-14 days to stir. We will then announce, when and where the honey is available. :-)

****** 'Bee Stories' : positive feedback and questions have inspired us to blog about bees, honey, beekeeping. You can find 'Bee Stories' here on our website

***** The supply of honey is running out. We are pleased that the honey from Riedmühle Petterweil is so well received. We only process our own honey. We don't mix or buy anything. You may still find honey in the two shops who sell it. Honey liqueur and honey balsamic vinegar are still available (Info here). The next spring honey will be around the end of May.
Of course, we are happy to recommend the honey from our beekeeping colleagues here from Karben and the surrounding area. Because .... buying honey from the region also supports the pollination performance of the local nature (... because this can be one of the motivations for a beekeeper to raise more bee colonies)

****** "The 5-star bees from Bad Homburg" is an article in the newspaper about the bee colonies at the Steigenberger Hotel in Bad Homburg. In the beginning we looked after the colonies. At the same time, two employees of the hotel received the necessary equipment and training to be able to look after the bees independently. Here is the link to the article, unfortunately only in German: http://www.taunus-zeitung.de/lokales/hochtaunus/vordertaunus/Die-5-Sterne-Bienen-aus-Bad-Homburg;art48711,3030423

**** For the Bad Vilbel chamber orchestra (www.bvko.org) we have again created a special edition "Orchestra honey" for the 2019/20 season. This will be given as a thank you to the soloists and organizers at concerts.

Info

A buzzing welcome to our website.
'Honey can be imported, pollination can not' With the support of local beekeepers you contribute to local nature conservation.

Petterweil is a part of Karben in the Wetterau just north of Frankfurt/Main. In the middle of the beautiful landscape of the Heitzhöferbach valley are our bee colonies, surrounded by fields, forests and meadows. A whole field "Flowering Landscape" (a seed mixture with over 30 different type of flowers) also offers plenty of food for the bees. That's why our honey is called"Petterweiler bee meadow"You can enjoy this changing bloom along the R4 cycle path. From spring to autumn there will be a magnificent play of colors from lilac to yellow and white. Send us your most beautiful photo of the bee meadow. Win a jar of honey: We are giving away a jar of honey every quarter. Here you will find information and previous entries for our small photo competition. Link photo competition

And sometimes you can see us across the meadow when we look after our bee colonies. If you want to know more or want to look over the shoulder of the beekeeper, please feel free to contact us.

As a small family manufacturer, we put special focus on the quality of our honey. It is pure natural honey according to the strict guidelines of the German Beekeepers' Association and our own criteria. This includes various aspects such as how the honeycomb wax is handled or that we only use our own honey, do not buy or even mix ( you certainly do not read in the small print "mix from EC and not EC countries"). See honey and beekeeping.

Which Honey products we have and where you can buy them see Products.
Of course we also deliver here in the region to Karben, Rodheim, Bad Homburg, Bad Vilbel, Friedrichsdorf, Burgholzhausen, Rendel, Burggräfenrode, Ilbenstadt, Friedberg, Wöllstadt, Gronau.

You will find interesting information about the delicacy honey foam under the heading "Honey foam - a real delicacy".

Would you like an unusual gift, such as a small edition with a personalized label, or even with an individual design and labeling? We would also be happy to create that for you.

Please note that we only sell our own honey (and not buy or mix). It may happen that the honey is no longer available until the next season.

You can find something historical about the Riedmühle in under  "About".

We hope you enjoy the website and hope that you will soon be able to taste our honey and other specialties!

sincerely
